Mississauga Family Counselling Therapy offers compassionate, professional support to help families navigate challenges, improve communication, and strengthen relationships.
At Mississauga Family Counselling Therapy, healing begins with compassion and connection.
Our expert therapists guide individuals, couples, and families through life’s toughest challenges.
From parenting struggles to separation, trauma, and mental health—we’re here to help you rebuild.
With empathy and evidence-based care, we foster resilience, restore trust, and strengthen family bonds.
At Mississauga Family Counselling Therapy, we specialize in working with parents, families, and youth between the ages of 6 and 18. While we primarily support parents and teens (ages 13 and up) in direct sessions, we find that helping parents navigate their child’s behaviours, emotional challenges, or family dynamics can create meaningful change at home—even without meeting the child directly. For younger children under 13, we focus on empowering parents with effective strategies. If at any point it becomes clear that your child would benefit from individual counselling, we’ll explore the best therapeutic options together.
Many of our services in Mississauga Ontario are covered under extended health benefits, depending on your provider and plan. Our therapy sessions are provided by licensed professionals, and we’ll be happy to offer detailed receipts for reimbursement. We recommend contacting your benefits provider in advance to confirm coverage for psychotherapy or registered counselling services.
Coaching and therapy both offer support, but they differ in scope and approach. Coaching focuses on future goals, performance, and accountability—ideal for those seeking direction or motivation. Therapy, on the other hand, explores emotional, psychological, and relational concerns at a deeper level, often addressing past experiences and unresolved patterns. At Mississauga Family Counselling Therapy, we use therapeutic frameworks that help individuals and families heal, grow, and thrive—not just perform better.
Therapy is a safe, supportive space where you can speak openly without fear of judgment. In your first session, we’ll explore your current challenges, goals, and what brought you to seek support. We’ll work together to understand your family dynamics and set a clear path forward. Many clients find the process deeply relieving—it’s not about fixing everything at once, but about taking meaningful steps toward healing, clarity, and connection.
Standard therapy sessions at our Mississauga office are typically 50 minutes in length. Longer sessions may be available for couples or family sessions if needed and can be arranged upon request.
Every client’s journey is unique. Some clients see significant improvement in a few sessions, while others benefit from longer-term support over several months. Our goal is to help you create sustainable change at a pace that feels right for you. We regularly revisit your goals and progress to ensure therapy remains meaningful and effective.
We generally recommend weekly or biweekly sessions when beginning therapy to build momentum and continuity. Over time, many clients transition to monthly or as-needed sessions depending on their progress and preferences. We’ll work together to create a schedule that supports your goals and your family’s needs.
Choosing the right therapist is a personal and important decision. Our approach is warm, respectful, and collaborative. We are experienced in helping families overcome conflict, rebuild trust, and improve communication. During your first session, you’ll get a sense of our style, and we’ll ensure it feels like the right fit for you. We welcome your questions and are committed to transparency, comfort, and care.
Life happens. If you need to reschedule or cancel a session, we ask for a minimum of 24 hours’ notice. This allows us to offer your time to another client in need. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may be subject to a cancellation fee. We appreciate your understanding and commitment to the therapeutic process.
